A new freight-forwarder facility opened at Kitakyushu Airport on October 1, offering five combined warehouse-office units to streamline customs and transport. The 1,220-square-meter “Kitakyushu Air Cargo Terminal” will boost international trade capacity, with operator Air World aiming to expand exports of semiconductors and perishables. The airport handled 10,435 tons of international cargo in FY2024, up 6% year-on-year. A runway extension in 2027 will allow direct cargo flights to Europe and the U.S. Source: Fukuoka Prefecture
