The Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks completed a new R&D Lab at Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka and opened it to the media on Sept. 7. R&D stands for research and development, and the facility will use data analysis and scientific methods to support player improvement. The roughly 500 million yen lab is equipped with high-speed cameras and other advanced equipment. It can analyze players’ movements in detail, including how force is transferred through the body, and is scheduled to begin full operations next season. The Hawks plan to use the visualized data to improve the team’s performance. Source: TNC News / Softbank Hawks
