The “Mompe Exhibition” was initiated to highlight Kurume-kasuri, a traditional craft from Fukuoka, recognized not only within Japan but also globally for its comfortable daily wear and impressive craftsmanship.
The exhibit focuses on monpe, a style of Japanese work clothing constructed from Kurume-kasuri. Nowadays, these garments are celebrated as sustainable everyday wear, being easy to maintain and durable enough to last a long time. With 1,500 pieces of monpe on display, there’s an ample selection for you to find your perfect fit.
