Artisans from across Japan converge at this esteemed annual ceramics event, showcasing and selling an array of pottery, lacquerware, and handcrafted goods. The event highlights unique collaborations between the exhibitors—potters and artists—merging their exquisite vases with the art of ikebana. Additionally, the concurrent “Okawa Traditional Crafts Exhibition” features a selection of Fukuoka Prefecture’s designated specialty crafts, including intricate kumiko lattice work, exquisite solid paulownia wood chests, and sophisticated Kakegawa textile, all exemplifying the artisans’ exceptional craftsmanship. Attendees can also engage in interactive workshops, such as pottery wheel experiences and painting, while the simultaneous “Hokkaido Fair” offers an opportunity to savor premium gourmet delicacies from Hokkaido.
