START: Feb 2, 2022 END: Feb 7, 2022

The Fukuoka Mitsukoshi Gallery is hosting an exhibition of Japanese handicrafts this February. The event, which has taken place every year since 1954, aims to promote traditional techniques and develop new items for modern day life. This year marks the 68th time that the exhibition has been staged. A total of 351 items will be featured in the displays, including 16 award-winning pieces created by living national treasures. From Fukuoka, Kurume Kasuri artist Takahiro Matsueda won the Japan Craft Association Encouragement Award at the young age of 26.
