Adaptation – Kyne

START: Apr 20, 2024 END: Jun 30, 2024

Kyne, an artist who began his career around 2006 and has since gained attention both in Japan and internationally, hails from Fukuoka and studied Japanese painting in college. His artworks, inspired by the cool expressions of women depicted in 1980s manga and record album covers, have captivated audiences, even becoming a temporary mural at the Fukuoka Art Museum.

This exhibition marks Kyne’s first major solo show in Japan, offering an in-depth look at his allure through approximately 150 pieces ranging from early works to his latest creations. It’s a unique opportunity to explore the evolution and impact of Kyne’s artistry, which seamlessly blends traditional Japanese aesthetic with contemporary pop culture influences.
