Ago Festival

Flying fish, known locally as “ago” in Kyushu, is prized in Fukuoka for its rich flavor, especially in New Year’s ozoni soup. To celebrate the peak season in autumn, Kubara Honke, a company renowned for its ago-based dashi, hosts the Ago Festival. Visitors can enjoy freshly grilled ago for free, and explore 12 food stalls offering a variety of dishes made with ago dashi, including fried chicken, udon, and grilled offal.
