Arabia Art & Design

START: Dec 7, 2013 END: Jan 13, 2013

A Northern-European style of interior decorating has recently experienced a boom, with Finnish products in particular garnering praise. This group exhibition at IMS (12/7~) puts a spotlight on “beauty in use” – well designed objects that are used everyday such as kitchenware and furniture. Joining the group exhibition are artists from the “Arabia” art department – a Finnish ceramics company founded in 1873 and still at the forefront of interior design, specializing in kitchenware, tableware and gift products. It is the first time for the Finnish artists to exhibit in Japan, and they join Japanese artists including Fuji Ishimoto (Marimekko designer) to exhibit original pieces.
