The annual Arita festival, famous for its ceramics and porcelain known as Arita yaki, attracts over a million visitors each year. Around 450 stalls and shops stretch between Kami-Arita and Arita stations, offering discounted items. The entire Arita area buzzes with activity, including Arita Sera, the world’s largest Arita porcelain shopping area situated near the main street, featuring stores specializing in porcelain across approximately 2,000 tsubo of land. A café is set up on Tombai Fence Street, and from 6:00 am, morning porridge (limited to 300 daily for ¥600 each) are available in front of the Aritakan. Launched during the pandemic, the Web Arita Pottery Market returns this year, running from April 22 at 9:00 am to May 5.
