The participatory art festival BLUE WAY – The Blue Path We Create will transform the Hakozaki Shrine approach into a path of blue. Now in its second year, the 2024 theme is “Once Again.” The highlight of the event is live painting by Fukuoka-based artist Gin Soda, known for his signature use of blue, utilizing the approach as his canvas. The festival aims to foster awareness from diverse perspectives about the changing Hakozaki area, shaped by the redevelopment of the former Kyushu University site. It expresses a collective desire to color the town in blue and create it together. The event also features workshops such as blueprint-making and indigo dyeing, as well as food and drink stalls.
