The Embassy of Canada and Venture Café Fukuoka present a special session spotlighting Canadian AI startups—alumni of the Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) Japan program—that have successfully entered the Japanese market. As Canada continues to lead globally in AI innovation, the event will showcase examples of collaboration with Japanese companies and explore the strengths of Canada’s innovation ecosystem.
The panel session will be facilitated by Alex Odajima (小田嶋 Alex 太輔), CEO of Edge of Innovation and a specialist in global startup ecosystems. Drawing on his international experience, Odajima will guide a discussion featuring perspectives from startups, support organizations, and government representatives. Topics include Canada’s appeal as a co‑creation partner, strategies for fostering Japan–Canada startup collaboration, and how to generate new business opportunities through cross-border partnerships.
A networking reception will follow, offering a relaxed space to connect with others interested in Canada’s innovation landscape, including long-time supporters of the Embassy’s Fukuoka Trade Office.
