The Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk’s Seala Brasserie and Lounge held a media event on Feb. 25 to announce their first-ever Canadian Food Fair. Banquet chef de cuisine and native of Canada, Marcus Routbard, has put together a menu featuring dishes from each region of the country; from British Columbia in the west to the Atlantic provinces in the east. Diners will be treated to dishes made with authentic ingredients such as maple-flavored salmon, Canadian rib-eye steak, and mustard-maple pork tenderloin! Poutine (French fries served with cheese curds and brown gravy), tourtière (Quebec-style meat pies), and seafood chowders (east coast and west coast styles) will also be included on the menu. And how about Caesar, Canada’s national cocktail (vodka, clamato juice, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce) with a strip of crispy bacon to go with it? Last but not least, desserts. Marcus has an all-star lineup of Canadian sweets such as pecan butter tarts, Nanaimo bars, and flapper pie! Some menu items will be rotated in and out, so plan on visiting at least twice. Below are some photos taken by Fukuoka Now at the media event. Oh, Canada!
