With a history of over 350 years, this distinguished fireworks festival began as an offering to Suitengu Shrine, located along the Chikugo River. Now one of the largest displays in western Japan, the event features 15,000 fireworks. Spectators can experience an overwhelming display that includes rapid-fire bursts of oversized fireworks and massive blooms that fill the entire sky accompanied by ground-shaking reverberations.
