Fukuoka’s new landmark, Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City, which opened this year, has quickly become a cherished site. The popular grassy plaza, known as the “lying-down square” at night, is illuminated with champagne gold lights, creating a festive backdrop for the Christmas market that also opens to sell food, drinks, and trinkets.
This season’s limited-edition mug features the guardian deity of the “Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City” forest, the Daimyo Komainu. The mug showcases an exclusive design by the up-and-coming artist, Hiromine Nakamura, known for his Komainu creations.
