This contemporary art exhibition offers a glimpse into Jakarta’s vibrant culture scene, where art, music, fashion, design, and street culture intersect. Works by 16 creators active at the forefront of Jakarta’s creative community come together in Fukuoka, reflecting the energy of one of Southeast Asia’s largest cities.
Featured creators include Sir Dandy, known as both a musician and visual artist, and Oomleo, a member of the internationally recognized art collective ruangrupa. Sixteen works by artists, musicians, designers, and community organizers will be exhibited and available for purchase. Indonesian contemporary art has gained increasing international attention in recent years, including ruangrupa’s role as artistic director of documenta 15 in 2022.
