Toka Ebisu Shrine, famous for its New Year “Toka Ebisu” festival where Hakata merchants pray for prosperous business, will host its first autumn cultural festival this year. Dedicated to Ebisu, deity of business success, and Daikoku, deity of good fortune and matchmaking, the event will share Daikoku’s blessings through interactive experiences. Ten food trucks will line the approach, while the shrine grounds feature cultural workshops, exhibitions and sales by artists and creators, live calligraphy, and taiko drumming. At the adjacent Higashi Park lawn, children can receive free haircuts from barbers, alongside music performances, making it enjoyable for families as well.
