IMS Plaza is hosting a special exhibition of work by sumi-e ink artist Yuki Nishimoto this summer. The young Kagoshima native is a painter known for his use of sumi ink and creating dynamic, powerful images. A combination of new and older items will be featured in the exhibition, which forms part of IMS’s 30th anniversary celebrations. Approximately 30 pieces will be on display, including some that are nearly 15 meters in length. The art depicts strong, independent female figures and graceful, yet powerful designs. Original sumi-e paintings will be on sale in the Kinokuniya bookstore, which is located on the fourth floor of the same building, for the duration of the exhibition.
