Maizuru Park, known for its remaining stone walls of Fukuoka Castle, is also home to a plum garden with about 250 plum trees in 35 varieties, blooming in shades of red, pink, and white. From early February, the fragrant blossoms begin to bloom, and the peak viewing period is celebrated with a two-day Plum Festival. During the festival, red-cushioned benches are set up, and visitors can enjoy food and drinks from kitchen cars and market booths, as well as entertainment like monkey performances.
