The first film festival is taking place in Nakasu, an area that was once home to some of the nation’s leading movie theaters.The aim is to create a “film festival that anyone can enjoy,” and for the first edition, 14 films selected from the perspective of “children filming adults” will be screened. The opening film is “Baby Broker” (2022), with a talk by director Hirokazu Koreeda also scheduled. In addition, an awards ceremony for a competition of films made in under 15 minutes using smartphones will be held, followed by screenings of the winning works.
