Kinoko (mushrooms) are cherished in Japan as food, art and objects of study. This festival, now in its third year, is an opportunity for kinoko lovers to unite and come together in the name of all things mushroomy. At the event, there will be about 60 stalls of mushroom-themed food, arts and crafts and other exhibitions. You can see rare glow-in-the-dark mushrooms, take part in “kinoko tsuri” (mushroom fishing), and play a mushroom-whacking game.
