The Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks are set to celebrate their 2017 Japan Series victory in style by holding a parade through the center of the city. The 2015 parade saw 350,000 fans gather along the ringside, and a similar number is expected this time around. Manager Kimiyasu Kudo will join big name stars such as Seiichi Uchikawa and the rest of the team in marking the completion of a remarkable season that culminated in a six-game victory over the Yokohama DeNA BayStars. Five convertibles and two open top buses will transport the stars of the 2017 campaign along a 2.3 km route that will start at the Toi-dori intersection (near the Fukuoka Tokyo Kaijo Nichido Bldg. on Meiji-dori Ave.), and will end at the Heiwa intersection (near the Dentsu Fukuoka Bldg.). Please be aware that vehicles will be prevented from entering sections of Watanabe-dori Ave., Meiji-dori Ave., and other parts of central Tenjin from 10:30 to 12:00 on the day of the parade.
