Hakata Port Tower, conveniently located near the Marine Messe Fukuoka – the venue for the World Swimming Championships, is a free-to-enter attraction. Visitors can marvel at panoramic views of Hakata Bay and the city of Fukuoka from the tower’s 70-meter-high observation deck. Throughout the year, the tower is beautifully illuminated, showcasing refreshing blue tones in the spring and summer and warm oranges during fall and winter, adding a dynamic atmosphere according to the seasons and events.
To celebrate the World Aquatic Championships, the tower will feature a special illumination from July 11 to August 11. This light show represents the radiant sparkle of vibrant water and the collective spirit of people worldwide gathering for the event, conveyed through the interplay of light colors and movement. Furthermore, from July 15 to August 27, the tower’s operating hours will be extended until 9 p.m. (with last admission at 8:40 p.m.), and it will also specially open on its typically closed Wednesdays: July 19, 26, and August 2 and 9. Experience the enchanting sights of Fukuoka city at night while immersing yourself in the energetic atmosphere of the World Aquatic Championships.
Adjacent to the tower, the commercial complex “Bayside Place Hakata” hosts live music events every weekend.
