Held at Uminonakamichi Seaside Park since 1987, this event is one of Fukuoka’s premier track and field competitions. Doubling as a qualifier for the Japanese team for the Belgrade 2024 World Cross Country Championships, it uniquely welcomes public participation. In the last edition, approximately 1,500 participants, including citizen runners, took part. The event features a demanding cross-country race known for its challenging grassy, hilly, and sandy terrains. Often regarded as a testament to athletic prowess, conquering this sport is akin to mastering track and field itself. The 2km course, set amidst scenic natural surroundings, offers spectators an opportunity to experience the fierce competition up close.
