Set against the Kanmon Straits, which can be crossed in just five minutes, is one of Japan’s largest candle events. The area is illuminated with 30,000 candles, and in the Moji Port area, a Christmas market with more than 24 vendors selling goods and food is held. A market also takes place in the Shimonoseki area, where food and drink are sold. On the 18th, a bonfire is also planned.
