Six shrines in the Tenjin area—Kego, Wakamiya, Kogarasu, Kotohira, Sugawara, and Sakuragamine—unite for the annual Gekkasai Festival. This year, a new market will be held alongside the celebrations, with local restaurants serving oden, gyoza, curry, and more, plus traditional festival games. The program also includes the open karaoke contest Tenjin Utauma King Championship. The finale, the Gekkasai Parade, begins at 13:30 on Oct. 26 (Sun) and features a colorful procession of mikoshi (portable shrines) inspired by Japanese mythology, including Princess Kaguya.
