Experience international cultural exchange through manga at the annual Manga Festival, held each winter. This year marks the 8th edition of the festival, featuring as its main attraction an original artwork exhibition of “The Bride’s Stories” by Kaoru Mori. This manga beautifully depicts the lives of young brides in Central Asia during the mid-19th century. Additionally, the festival showcases a completion report exhibition of manga works set in Kitakyushu, created by young manga artists from Japan and South Korea. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore foreign cultures through manga and enjoy a diverse range of manga expressions from both Japan and abroad.
