This is the biggest festival of the year in Kitsuki, Oita Prefecture, a town which is referred to locally as little Kyoto. Don a kimono (rentals available) and join in the activities held all over the town including a ninja booth and more. Don’t miss this year’s Taishu-engaki (a genre of Japanese drama) show, “Dream” and other music and dance performances too. Travel back in time to the Edo period in this picturesque town.
