This is the biggest festival of the year in Kitsuki, Oita Prefecture, a town which is referred to locally as little Kyoto. Don a kimono (rentals available) and join in the activities held all over the town including a ninja booth and more. Don’t miss the procession of oiran clad in vibrantly colored kimono at night! Travel back in time to the Edo period in this picturesque town.
