To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Kyushu National Museum will host a special exhibition themed around “Treasures,” bringing together an exceptional collection of national treasures connected to Kyushu and Okinawa. Highlights include the Bonshō (bronze bell) from Kanzeon-ji Temple, the Gold Seal discovered on Shikanoshima, and renowned swords such as Heshikirii Hasebe, along with more than 60 other national treasures.
Also on display is a sword made in Kumamoto about 420 years ago, donated by Sadaharu Oh. Visitors can explore the fascinating stories behind these treasures while also discovering carefully selected pieces from the museum’s own acquisitions over the past 20 years, presented in a way designed to spark curiosity and wonder.
