Where there’s a crowd, there’s sake—and smiles. For five days, a large-scale sake festival will take place in front of Hakata Station, bringing together 21 breweries from Kyushu and another 21 from across Honshu. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of sake, including event-exclusive varieties, while welcoming the arrival of spring. To try the sake, attendees first purchase a cup (¥100, or a limited-edition original sake cup for ¥800), then buy individual pours at each booth using the same cup. Wine and beer are sold in glasses at each respective booth (cups cannot be reused for these). Payment is accepted in cash or via PayPay. Food is also available, with special appearances by Nagahama yatai stall “Nagahama no Hiroshi,” kushikatsu and standing bar “Shirasu Kujira,” pizzeria “Pizzeria da Gaetano,” an oyster bar, and more.
