Miyajidake Shrine Path of Light
~

Witness the awe-inspiring “Path of Light” that extends in a straight line from Miyajihama Beach to the steps of Miyajidake Shrine, illuminated by the setting sun over the Genkai Sea. This mystical sight can only be seen for a few days each year, typically in late February and late October. This fall, the festival of the setting sun will be held from October 14th to October 22nd.

During the festival, special red ink stamps (“shuin”) commemorating the Path of Light are available for purchase. Free admission tickets, available on a first-come, first-served basis, are distributed from 2 PM on the day of the event. Note that the shrine’s steps will serve as the festival’s viewing area from 3 PM until sunset, restricting regular access.

For those wishing to enjoy a more reserved viewing experience atop the steps after a prayer ceremony, special seats are available by reservation over the phone. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience the Path of Light, a mystical phenomenon that’s perfect for photographers and spiritual seekers alike!
