Munakata Taisha Shrine celebrates autumn with a series of well-known festivals and events. The celebrations include the Miare Festival, which sees two ships carrying portable shrines sail across the harbor to the mainland. This year, only the Gozabune will depart, and a Shinto ritual will be held in which only the people concerned will attend. Takamiya Kannabi Festival, which concludes the Autumn Festival on the final day, is another eye-catching attraction that takes place on the final day in order to honor the three Munakata goddesses. With prior reservation, we can enjoy Kannabi Festival on public viewing at “Road Station Munakata” and “Umino michi Munakatakan”.
