The “Konya 2023” building in Daimyo is an ongoing collaborative art space and living area, where creators and artists congregate. Many specialists in diversified fields work out of 17 rooms of this 45 year old building, and every now and then they open their doors to the public for an intimate and unique party! The “musicApartment × Konya Yatai 2012” event sees the whole building turned into a live house– with drinks, food and entertainment. Over 20 musical artists will perform in 6 of the building’s rooms and on the rooftop, including Aoba Ichiko (classic guitarist), Grand Salvo (singer/songwriter from Melbourne, AUS), PoPoyans (folk duo) and more! On the roof you can enjoy live acoustic music and a yatai-style food. Don’t forget to try Veggie Kitchen’s delicious stone baked vegetable bagel pizzas. There are also workshops to make silk-screened Japanese Tenugui (¥1,000/workshop + materials) or silk-screened t-shirts (¥500/workshop). Note: If you want to take part in the t-shirt workshop, bring your own plain t-shirt to the event. Tickets to the “musicApartment × Konya Yatai 2012” event are ¥3,000, but if you want to get a taste of the event for free- the 3rd floor lounge and terrace will be open to the public all night! The free area includes DJ beats and a great menu by Pub Ales- including white sausage, back ribs dipped in honey and Scottish draft beer.
