Masashi Asada is a photographer known for his family-themed images. Asada continues to use members of his actual family as subjects in various unique and stylized settings. He first started taking family photos using self-timer cameras in response to a school assignment that asked students to express themselves in a single image. This project has gone to heavily influence his style of work. Approximately 150 works will be featured in this exhibit, including photographs taken all over the country. In 2020, a movie titled Asada-ke! (The Asadas!) was released amidst much excitement. Last year proved a busy time for Asada as he also announced that he would bring out a new photobook for the first time in ten years. At the venue, visitors will be able to view images Asada captured in Fukuoka and take their own pictures at photo spots curated by the artist himself. He will also be participating in a talk and signing session on the opening day of the exhibit (reservation required).
