Around 9,000 treasures of the Shoso-in repository remain rarely seen by the public, including reproductions of furnishings, instruments, armors, religious items, and more have become art itself since the years of Meiji (1868-1912.) In celebration of the recent auspicious events of the Imperial Family of Japan, a special exhibition introducing the world Tempyo craftsmanship by showing treasured replicas created by present-day skilled craftsmen using cutting-edge technologies is planned. Tickets are available online and onsite. (The museum currently asks people to refrain from visiting in a group of 10 persons or more to prevent the new coronavirus infections.)
