Setsubun at Miyajidake Shrine

Setsubun at Miyajidake Shrine is held across four days. Beans will be scattered by ritual volunteers wearing traditional Japanese clothing called kamishimo while shouting “oniwa soto, fukuwa uchi” (Demons out! Luck in!). The volunteers are usually people who are in their yakudoshi (unlucky year). Be sure to catch the beans as some have tickets for fukukuji (fortune lottery)!
