Atago Shrine, famed as a power spot in Fukuoka, celebrates the grand Setsubun Festival on Setsubun Day. The festivities commence with the ‘Happy Star Festival Ritual’ in the main shrine, a ceremony dedicated to warding off bad luck and ensuring familial well-being. Following this, the ‘Fuku-mame Maki’ event is held, where shrine maidens and priests joyously scatter beans and sweets. Among these beans are special silver ones, believed to bestow blessings for family safety, and golden beans, thought to promote business prosperity.
