Shiraito Falls Friendship Village: Yamame Fishing Festival

Shiraito Falls in Itoshima, a designated scenic spot in Fukuoka Prefecture and a well-known power spot, offers yamame trout fishing from Golden Week (Apr. 29–Oct. 31). Visitors can rent a rod for ¥3,000 and catch up to three fish; even if none are caught, up to two fish are provided.
The fish can be salt-grilled at the on-site restaurant, Shiki no Chaya, for ¥200 each. During the festival period, each fishing experience also includes one serving of somen noodles.
