Takeda Souun, a globally renowned calligrapher hailing from Kumamoto, initially gained fame as a street calligrapher. Today, he is celebrated not only for his exceptional artistry but also for his vibrant and positive lifestyle. His upcoming second solo exhibition at Fukuoka Mitsukoshi is eagerly anticipated, featuring over 200 pieces, including new works, across seven distinct themes: Echizen washi paper, bluish black ink, indigo-dyed washi paper, calligraphy, artworks, gold/silver, and recycled washi paper. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to experience Takeda Souun’s artistry in person, as he will be conducting live performances on February 17th and 24th (from 14:00, with free admission), showcasing the dynamic fusion of tradition and innovation that defines his work.
