The St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Mar. 15 is a day for fans of Irish music, dance, beer, and spirits to get together. To celebrate, parades are held in Ireland and all over the world during the season on or around Mar. 17. Fukuoka has been celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a parade inside the Shintencho shopping arcade since 2014. Wear something green, the Irish color, or come in a fairy costume if you’re feeling creative for the costume contest! See if you can find Fukuoka’s fairy character, Grippi, there. You can receive a participation prize from the lucky draws, and 12 pairs who won the lottery will receive a 2-can Guinness set. There will be a pub crawl after the parade too. So soak up Irish culture with music and dance!
