Sushi School and Shrine Visit Day Trip

START: Jun 30, 2016 END: Jul 7, 2016

This tour is a must for those interested in sushi and shrines! First visit Miyajidake Jinja Shrine, which is thought to be one of Japan’s oldest shrines! This Shinto shrine is home to the biggest bell, taiko drum and shrine rope of any shrine in Japan! It is also one of the three main shrines that locals pilgrimage to at New Year. Next, visit a net pen where fish are kept before being sold on. Then head off to the “Genkai Sea Sushi School for Beginners”. Here you’ll learn about seasonal fish and the correct way to enjoy sushi. Make sushi using sliced fresh fish under the guidance of a professional sushi chef, all at a venue with a view of the ocean! You can wear a sushi chef uniform and take home a certificate of completion with your name on it! Don’t speak Japanese? No problem! One of the staff worked as a sushi chef in North America and can provide assistance in English. Then enjoy the sushi you just made, along with tempura and udon. All participants get a surprise souvenir to take home! This special tour is brought to you by organic restaurant Budou no Ki and sushi restaurant Sushi Yatai.
