The atmosphere of a Taiwanese night market returns to central Tenjin for around three weeks this autumn. Following a Lunar New Year edition held in January and February, this marks the festival’s second Fukuoka event of 2026. In collaboration with Tainan City, the event offers a taste of Taiwanese food and culture through regional dishes, drinks, lantern decorations, and more.
Food stalls will serve Taiwanese favorites including giant fried chicken cutlets, xiaolongbao, beef noodles, and lu rou fan, along with Tainan-style shrimp rice (xiārén fàn). Highlighting the savory flavor of shrimp, this rice dish is a specialty of southern Taiwan. Taiwanese beer, mango sours, and lemon sours will also be available, adding to the lively night-market atmosphere from lunchtime into the evening. Visitors can also browse stalls selling Taiwanese sweets, tea, seasonings, and miscellaneous goods, as well as a booth offering Taiwanese-style relaxation services.
