The Itoshima-based market event “Thinning,” aimed at raising awareness about mountain issues, brings together companies and organizations united by a common goal. This edition shines a spotlight on “marine plastic waste” collected during the members’ regular beach cleaning activities, encouraging attendees to reflect on environmental issues through the lens of coastal debris. Featuring 26 vendors, including eateries from Itoshima like “Mataichi no Shio” who produce salt from seawater and a coffee shop nestled in the woods, the event offers a chance to explore a variety of sweets, drinks, and merchandise. It provides a unique opportunity to learn about environmental conservation in a fun and engaging setting.
