Explore the stunning terraced fields of Ukiha, recognized as one of the “Top 100 Terraced Fields in Japan.” With around 300 terraces laid out in a staircase pattern, these fields boast a history that stretches back about 400 years. In the fall, the fields are lined with vibrant red Higanbana (Red Spider Lilies), estimated to number around 500,000 blooms. This draws numerous visitors who come to stroll and admire the flowers. During the festival, a variety of farm-fresh produce such as new rice and vegetables will be on sale, along with popular local treats like onigiri and salt-grilled yamame fish.
