Under the Ginkgo Tree: Culinary Workshop & Talk in Arita (A View from Above Event)

START: Nov 15, 2015 END: Nov 15, 2012

For one afternoon only, A View from Above brings you the chance to savor the freshest local food and tea that the Arita region has to offer in a unique setting. They have invited renowned chef Ai Hosokawa from Kumamoto and lifestyle design team「INDUBITABLY」to create a workshop event. The chef will share her memorable recipes and explain the stages involved as she cooks together with all the participants, making use of delicious locally produced ingredients. A table will be set up at the site of the famous 1000 year-old ginkgo tree so that participants can sit, eat and converse together under its golden leaves. Following the workshop, guests can sample a selection of teas from Arita and Ureshino served by a specialist, Naoko Ideno. Together with chef Ai Hosokawa and designer Teruhiro Yanagihara, these three will lead discussions about cuisine, tea culture and design, and how these combine to enrich our everyday lives. As an added incentive, several pottery fairs will be starting on the same day in Arita!
