Learn about ikebana flower arrangement at this fabulous exhibition! Under the theme of “What’s Ikebana?” the event introduces the world of Japanese traditional flower arrangements to the unfamiliar. Approximately 400 works, including some by top artists of the Ikenobo School, as well as many by Kyushu-based artists, will be on display. It’s an excellent opportunity to explore the tradition of ikebana before the opening of Tokyo 2020. Here are some snapshots taken by Fukuoka Now on the opening day, Oct. 9. Note that as these are living objects, the exhibition evolves, and displays may change. Some English language signage is available.
