The Cannes award-winning television commercial made for NTT DoCoMo called “Xylophone of Forest “ was shot in a forest near Kama City, Fukuoka Prefecture. In the commercial a wooden xylophone measuring over 1 kilometer long was set up and a rolling ball bounced down playing Bach’s “Cantata”. The CM was a huge success and many people expressed interest to hear the xylophone live. On Aug. 26 a 44 meter long xylophone will be setup in the same forest for an event which the organizers hope to raise awareness of of the importance of maintaining natural forests. Mr. C.W. Nicol, the writer and environmentalist will give a keynote address. The event is free but reservations are required. Limit 500.
