Enjoy yamame (Japanese salmon) fishing in Itoshima this Golden Week! Visitors can rent a fishing net for ¥2,500 and catch up to four fish. Even guests that do not manage hook one will still receive three fish. The trick is to make it look like your bait is swimming downstream! Shiyoaki (salt-grilled) salmon will also be available for ¥100. Grilled fish tastes even better when it has been hand-caught! Enjoy delicious salmon dishes, soba noodles, and somen nagashi (noodle catching) at the Shiki Chaya restaurant, which is located inside the grounds of the Shiraito Falls. (During the Yamame Fishing Festival, each time you try yamame fishing, you will receive a serving of somen noodles!)
