With the Mino Mountain Range as a backdrop, a 1.2-kilometer stretch of wax trees, beautifully tinged red, lines the road. During peak autumn foliage, this avenue becomes pedestrian-only, with shops and food trucks offering local produce and goods. Originally planted 270 years ago by the Kurume Domain as a source of wax for lanterns, around 260 wax trees now create a scenic display. Combined with the surrounding persimmon orchards, this picturesque rural landscape showcases the beauty of autumn.
