The Fukuoka International Business Association (FIBA) is an organization aimed at networking and exchanging business information about Fukuoka and Kyushu for business professionals involved in international business activities centered in Fukuoka.
The association was founded in 2006 under the leadership of then-Fukuoka Governor Wataru Aso. During the early 2000s, Fukuoka Prefecture was actively inviting companies from overseas. The organization was established to facilitate English communication between local executives, expatriates from international companies, and independent internationals operating or working in businesses in Fukuoka.
On September 8, 2023 (Friday), the second FIBA meeting of the year was held. This time, it was the first joint event with the Fukuoka Foreign Trade Association (FFTA), taking place at Pietro’s main restaurant in central Fukuoka.
The guest speaker was Mr. Ryuzo Nakaya, the race director of “Tour de Kyushu 2023,” the first UCI (International Cycling Union) sanctioned cycle road race to be held in Kyushu. He presented an overview of the competition, highlights, and invited teams from the organizer’s perspective, and an active exchange of opinions took place.
